1:1 神的僕人，耶穌基督的使徒保羅，憑著 神選民的信心與敬虔真理的知識， Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness--
1:2 盼望那無謊言的 神在萬古之先所應許的永生， a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 1:3 到了日期，藉著傳揚的功夫把他的道顯明了；這傳揚的責任是按著 神我們救主的命令交託了我。 and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, 1:4 現在寫信給提多，就是照著我們共信之道作我真兒子的。願恩惠、平安從父 神和我們的救主基督耶穌歸與你！ To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. 1:5 我從前留你在克里特，是要你將那沒有辦完的事都辦整齊了，又照我所吩咐你的，在各城設立長老。 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might straighten out what was left unfinished and appoint(\f1 1:5 Or|i ordain|d) elders in every town, as I directed you. 1:6 若有無可指責的人，只作一個婦人的丈夫，兒女也是信主的，沒有人告他們是放蕩不服約束的，就可以設立。 An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. 1:7 監督既是 神的管家，必須無可指責，不任性，不暴躁，不因酒滋事，不打人，不貪無義之財； Since an overseer(\f2 1:7 Traditionally|i bishop|d) is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless--not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 1:8 樂意接待遠人，好善，莊重，公平，聖潔自持； Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 1:9 堅守所教真實的道理，就能將純正的教訓勸化人，又能把爭辯的人駁倒了。 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. 1:10 因為有許多人不服約束，說虛空話欺哄人；那奉割禮的更是這樣。 0 For there are many rebellious people, mere talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision group. 1:11 這些人的口總要堵住。他們因貪不義之財，將不該教導的教導人，敗壞人的全家。 They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of dishonest gain. 1:12 有克里特人中的一個本地先知說：「克里特人常說謊話，乃是惡獸，又饞又懶。」 Even one of their own prophets has said, <<Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.>> 1:13 這個見證是真的。所以，你要嚴嚴地責備他們，使他們在真道上純全無疵， This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 1:14 不聽猶太人荒渺的言語和離棄真道之人的誡命。 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of those who reject the truth. 1:15 在潔淨的人，凡物都潔淨；在污穢不信的人，甚麼都不潔淨，連心地和天良也都污穢了。 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 1:16 他們說是認識 神，行事卻和他相背；本是可憎惡的，是悖逆的，在各樣善事上是可廢棄的。 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

荒漠甘泉五合一「用繩索把祭牲拴住，牽到壇角那裏。」詩篇一一八篇27節 讀者啊，祭壇不是在呼召我們嗎？我們不是要請求繩索把我們拴在祭壇上，使我們永遠不把我們的奉獻拿回來嗎？我們常常在生活充滿了玫瑰色光彩的時候，樂意選擇十字架；在天色灰暗的時候，就退縮了。所以如果能用繩索把我們拴住的話，多麼好呢！ 主啊，求你把我們拴住，拴在十字架上，讓我們永遠不會離開它。求你用救恩的紅繩、愛的金繩、望的銀繩，把我們拴住，叫我們不能逃回舊日的寬路去，也叫我們不去羨慕別的命運─只羨慕作主痛苦悲傷中卑賤的伴侶！ 讀者啊，壇角在呼召你了。你願不願意來呢？你願不願意永遠居在順從謙卑的靈中，把你自己完全奉獻給主呢？ ─選 在一次野外聚會裏，有一位弟兄，願意把自己奉獻給神。他每天晚上在祭壇旁邊奉獻自己；但是每天晚上在他離開聚會以前，魔鬼就來使他相信：他並沒有感覺甚麼分別，一定是神沒有接受他的奉獻。 一次一次他這樣被仇敵擊退，最後一天晚上，他來赴會的時候，帶了一把斧頭和一根長大的木樁來。他把自己奉獻了以後，就將木樁釘入他所跪的那塊地上。當他走出會場的時候，魔鬼又來引誘他相信這一切都不過是一幕戲劇而已。 他立刻回到木樁那裏，指著木樁說：「你看，魔鬼先生，你看見那根木樁嗎？那就是我的證人—─證明神已經永遠接受了我。」魔鬼立即離開了他，這位弟兄對於這個問題，以後再沒有甚麼疑惑了。 ─微小的聲音 親愛的，如果你也受了引誘疑惑你的奉獻的話，你也可以在一個地方釘下一根木樁，讓它在神前、魔鬼前，做一個證人說，你已經永遠解決了這個問題。 你是否在尋求幸福， 而無處可遇？ 只要聽取主的吩咐， 就會找到門路。 你是否在爭取得救， 而焦急祈求， 不必爭取， 只要信靠， 就會被神收留。 你的祈求懇切熱心， 卻遲遲不見回音， 把你的祈求變為讚美， 答應就會到臨。 你無從領會神的美滿， 除非你能放擔息肩， 把你的一切交託給神， 纔可領會完全。 ─心靈之歌
