十一月廿四日 「你們要安靜，要知道我是神。」詩篇四六篇10節（直譯） 音樂譜中能不能漏去休止符呢？詩篇中能不能漏去「細拉」呢？如果不能的話，人生也不能漏去安靜。世上沒有一件東西能像「安靜」那樣摸著我們的心。 只有在安靜的時候，我們纔能得到「神所賜出人意外的平安。」（腓四7）；纔能得到「平靜安穩」（賽卅15）—─得力的來源；纔能得到世界所不能給與、不能奪去的安息；纔能聽見神微小的聲音。 在軸上旋轉得最快的車輪，它的中心有一個地方，是一無動靜的；照樣，在我們最忙碌的生活，我們的靈裏仍能頂安靜地與神單獨親近的。「耶和華在祂的聖殿中。全地的人，都當在祂面前肅敬靜默。」（哈二20） 　　　　　　　　　　─選 慈愛的父啊，有時我們在無星之夜行走，四圍全是黑暗；前面既沒有星光，又沒有月光。慘澹的黑暗似乎永遠不會退去了。 在這樣的沉寂中，你柔和的微聲安慰了我們流血的心。我們聽見了你微小的聲音，看見了你煥發的慈容，我們的生命就新鮮得如同枯萎的花兒飲了雨露一般。

November 24 "Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10) 　ＩS there any note of music in all the chorus as mighty as the emphatic pause? Is there any word in all the Psalter more eloquent than that one word, Selah (Pause)? Is there anything more thrilling and awful than the hush that comes before the bursting of the tempest and the strange quiet that seems to fall upon all nature before some preternatural phenomenon or convulsion? Is there anything that can touch our hearts as the power of stillness? 　There is for the heart that will cease from itself, "the peace of God that passeth all understanding," a "quietness and confidence" which is the source of all strenght, a sweet peace "which nothing can offend," a deep rest which the world can neither give nor take away. There is in the deepest center of the soul a chamber of peace where God dwells, and where, if we will only enter in and hush every other sound, we can hear His still, small voice. 　There is in the swiftest wheel that revolves upon its axis a place in the very center, where there is no movement at all; and so in the busiest life there may be a place where we dwell alone with God, in eternal stillness. There is only one way to know God. "Be still, and know." "God is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him." 　　　　　　　　　　─Selected. 　"All-loving Father, sometimes we have walked under starless skies that dripped darkness like drenching rain. We despaired of starshine or moonlight or sunrise. The sullen blackness gloomed above us as if it would last forever. And out of the dark there spoke no soothing voice to mend our broken hearts. We would gladly have welcomed some wild thunder peal to break the torturing stillness of that over-brooding night. 　"But Thy winsome whisper of eternal love spoke more sweetly to our bruised and bleeding souls than any winds that breathe across Aeolian harps. It was Thy 'still small voice' that spoke to us. We were listening and we heard. We looked and saw Thy face radiant with the light of love. And when we heard Thy voice and saw Thy face, new life came back to us as life comes back to withered blooms that drink the summer rain."

十一月廿四日　保羅禱告的呼籲 「靠著聖靈，隨時多方禱告祈求，並要在此儆醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求，也為我祈求。」以弗所書六章18、19節 保羅在此有何等深的意念，要基督的整個身體靈的聯合為所屬的肢體不住代禱。從他所用的字句中，可明顯看出他並無要求在某一特定場所，而是在日常生活中彼此聯合在一起，操練不住的禱告；「靠著聖靈隨時多方禱告祈求，並要在此儆醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求，也為我祈求。」他期望信徒能有充滿在基督裏的意識，並通過整個身體意識的聯合，在日常生活中為屬於身體的肢體之利益而代求。由於他們被聖靈充滿，就有完全的天性並無任何束縛，可為耶穌基督身體所有肢體代禱，若我們身體每一個肢體都有在每一時刻為身體利益而努力的天性，聖靈便能完全掌權，與基督聯合的意識必隨肢體喜樂相愛聯合的意識而有。 這豈不正配合我們日常生活的需要嗎？每位信徒都要完全向基督耶穌降服，每天、整天活在主基督和肢體聯合意識之中，正如戰爭使得成萬的子民強烈地預備為他們的君王犧牲一切。所以神的聖徒要為他們的君王基督及屬於祂的其它肢體而活，但願神的子民能不計代價在任何時刻為所有聖徒代禱。

十一月廿四日　眼睛望著的方向 「看哪！僕人的眼睛怎樣望主人的手……我們的眼睛也照樣望耶和華我們的神。」詩篇一二三篇2節 本節全是倚靠神的描寫。僕人眼睛怎樣望主人，我們的眼睛也怎樣望神，就得以知道祂的容貌（比較賽五三1）。我們不舉目望祂，靈性便要開始缺漏。缺漏不從外面的煩擾而來，在於我們的理想太低，我們反說──「我想我是志向太高了一點，想與神同樣，不肯做平常的人。」我們的目標實現沒有太高。 比如當你為神奮鬥之時，你遇著了一種危機，並有聖靈見證你全對；但是過了數星期，或許數年，恐怕你會感覺得：「那時我理想不是太高麼？我的奮鬥不是太過火麼？」你理性的朋友來說──「不要糊塗，我知道你靈性的醒悟，不過是過去的一種衝動，你是捉不住的，神也不盼望你如此。」你就說──「我想我是盼望過了頭。謙遜的話說得好聽，但是信靠神的事實是沒有了，信靠世俗的論調是滿有了。危險是不再倚靠神，你忽略了舉目望祂。只有神忽然把你領到停步的時候，你會感覺得，你是怎樣的無依無靠。無論何時，覺得有缺漏，你當馬上矯正。認清了你與神之間的隔閡，就當馬上調整。

十一月廿四日 「我靠著那加給我力量的，凡事都能做。」腓立比書四章13節 有一位婦人說了一些我非常驚訝的話：「我的工作多到我沒有時間等候神，或是求祂賜給我力量來處理。」她這種態度真可說是巧婦想為無米之炊。儘管她是奉主的名為教會事奉，但事實上，她卻是在撒但的捆綁之下。 神絕不會差遣祂的僕人，卻不給他們力量。因為「神能將各樣的恩惠，多多的加給你們。」(林後九8) 有句古老的拉丁諺語說：「要快就得慢慢來。」這其中確實含有極深的意思。總之，在我們的工作堆積如山時，我們就越需要把頭常埋在桌前，從天上得到力量及愛，然後我們才能有新的力量繼續前進。一小時浸在聖靈的愛中，要比不靠神自己打十場戰，有效率的多了。 為了神的工作，我常住在祂裡面。 這工作事實上是祂的，而不是我的。 祂為我計劃、為我準備一切， 並以聖潔的能力充滿我。 也因此責任變成喜樂， 禱告則成為我所吟唱的讚美詩。 為了神的工作，我常住在祂裡面， 並從祂那裡得到新的力量。
